Montenegro rewards a car. The coast road is a joy, the mountain roads more so, and half the best places to eat are somewhere a bus will never take you. Hiring here is straightforward once you know what to watch for.
A few things worth knowing before you book
Most companies want the main driver to be twenty-five or over, and add a young-driver surcharge below that. A licence issued outside the EU or UK usually needs an International Driving Permit alongside it, which is far easier to arrange at home than at a hire desk. And if you are planning to drive into Albania, Bosnia or Croatia, say so up front — some companies charge a cross-border fee and a few will not allow it at all.
Automatics book out early
There are far fewer automatics here than in the UK, and in July and August they go weeks in advance. If you cannot drive a manual, get your dates to me as early as you can.
Tell me what you need
Fill this in and I will come back to you with prices and availability from the companies I work with. Nothing is booked until you are happy with it.
